The Lowly Debater

On last night millions tuned in to watch one of the most talked about debates this year - Obama and Romney. However, some were disillusioned as to who looked presidential and who did not.  Thank goodness looks are deceiving.  There are already to many politicians serving who look like sheep in wolves clothes.  But on last night, the President did one thing significant that Mitt Romney, former CEO of Bain Capital rarely does - acknowledge his wife.

I do not believe he did this only because it was their 20-year anniversary, but if you review some of his stump speeches you will find that President Obama continuously recognizes the one person who has and will stand by him through all the harsh comments, racial slurs and negative press.

Now, the great debater on last night, the President was not, but when we vote, we don't vote on who can debate well, we vote on who will fight for our basic rights and wellbeing.  We vote on who is telling us the truth, not the spin.

Yes, most politicians use rhetoric to speak their case on an issue. We hear over and over that people are entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts!

The President may have appeared to have a nonchalant attitude, but who among us can say that everyday of his presidency he is not fighting for the middle-class.  Who can say he is not working tirelessly on reducing our deficit and trying to create jobs.

President Obama is viewed under a different veil.  He is an African-American male, and if he came across on last night as too aggressive, to some, he would have seemed like another so called "angry black man." But do not get me wrong, when you are fighting for your job you must be tactfully aggressive.

The debate was a snooze for me. Most of the important issues were not even brought up. Was I disappointed, yes. I expected a real debate. I expected to see all the attributes of what a debate is supposed to be like - a dispute - argument - disputation - argue - deliberate - canvass. I left wondering who is fighting for the middle class - I did not see that last night!.

The stakes were high and someone fell on their sword. But one thing we must still remember, if God be for us - not the president, no one else is powerful enough to destroy us. Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' pressure blood and his righteousness. Now that we see how important this election is - VOTE!

Walk Through The Door

There is a wide great door of opportunity opened for you and although there may be obstacles, you must push pass your fears and walk through the door.  To put it charitably this is the only way you can succeed and propel yourself to a limitless future of success.

When you walk through the door, it is the means by which you have entrance or access; and therefore, indicates your ability to use your skills and talents in an effective way.  All you have to do is walk in confidence knowing there is something out there suited just for you.

The hesitation to walk through the door is normal at times when you are moving from one level to another not knowing what is on the other side.  It can seem a little scary at first because you have to make some adjustments in putting the social stigma of being the victim and not the victor behind you to now being fully equipped to handle whatever comes your way.

What society does not know is that when the wide great door of opportunity swings open, you are already prepared for the assignment.  You became eligible when you walked through the door.

In other words, the wide great door was opened because somebody helped you...now that you are at the door walk through, stretch back and help your girlfriend succeed.

Mitt Romney - Rich And Lovin' It!

Some do not understand presidential candidate Mitt Romney, but I do.  I see where he may get his "I have" and "You Don't" attitude.  Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being successful and prosperous.  In my opinion it is the 47 percent that help the rich get richer. These 1 percenters may have been his inspiration.  Enjoy!

The 47 Percent

Today my blog is short.  For the last two days many who follow politics have heard the saying "Secret Recording" or "47 percent" from a campaign fund-raiser presidential candidate Mitt Romney attended in May 2012.

Well, on this "Secret Recording" Mitt said some things that showed what kind of presidential platform he would pursue as the POTUS.

The video revealed that Mitt Romney dismisses the votes of 47 percent of Americans.  In essence, he is not concerned if he does not get these citizens votes.  There is no surprise to some that the 47 percent of Americans he is referring to are low income workers, students, the disabled and seniors.

There is nothing wrong with being successful and prosperous.  But it is the 47% that help the rich get richer.

The Brave and The Beautiful

So ladies, how would you like to check the date of your calendar every day looking at "Eye Candy" for the current month.  But before you get excited this popular calendar has a purpose in which I call "man of the month with junk in the front."

The Fire Department of New York Foundation that publishes this calendar is" the official not-for-profit of the FDNY established to promote Fire Safety in New York City and the professional development, training, and education of members of the FDNY."  In essence, the money for these calendars go to train and educate the firefighters who place their lives on the line for us everyday.

Thank you firefighters.  Now, can you put some firefighters that look like this in my area.  It would be greatly appreciated. Lol

Why I Created My New Blog Called: "Speak To My Heart"

Why I created my new blog entitled, “Speak To My Heart.”  I created this blog because I wanted a venue where I could express my ideas, stories and passion with others.  I want a venue where I can speak to people from my heart and they can speak to me from their hearts in an informal non-judgmental format.  I believe it is part of our human nature to want to share and communicate with others, and blogging is one of the best, cheapest and most efficient ways of doing that.
I remember when I was going through my divorce and I did not want to do a lot of talking physically.  In fact, there were times I just wanted to be alone because no matter how bad others felt about my situation, I felt worse.  I could only express how I really felt in poetry to myself.  I believe if I had a blog I may have reached out more for support with people who knew what I was experiencing.
When you are married to a minister, it can be hard to speak to others from your heart.  Some will start to judge you or your spouse and I did not want that to happen, so for a long time I portrayed a persona that all was well, when deep inside it was not.   That is why this blog is important to me right now.  It is like hanging out with your friends and having a regular conversation with your readers.  And sometimes your readers may have an insight whether spiritual or natural you did not see.
Hmmm-Stop Over Thinking!
The great thing about the internet is that there are readers for just about anything out there you want to blog about. Whether your passionate about narrow subjects like why some people do not use their inside voice when chatting on their cell phone to a broader field, such as the inconsistencies in promises made by both parties in this election year.
Many of you know I do not lack the ability to express myself on a day-to-day basis and today was one of those days where I wanted to tell how I really felt about my new job prospect that went completely opposite than what I expected.  But I will share at a later date.
For now, welcome to my blog!!
This is my new blog page and I am testing it out!!  Thank you for your patience.
